Denier Tex Denier: A unit of weight expressing the size or coarseness of natural or synthetic fiber or yarn. It is the weight in grams of 9000 meters of the specific fiber or yarn; the lower the denier, the finer the yarn. 1 denier = wt. in g/9000 m = 1/9 tex Tex: The basic textile unit of linear density—the weight in grams of a fiber one kilometer in length. Units = g/km = (g/cm) × 10-5, millitex (mtex) = tex × 10-3 |
